quote [ Tobias is laughing. And laughing. The effect is disconcerting. It's a bwa-ha-ha kind of evil mastermind laugh—appropriate if you've just sacked Constantinople, checkmated Deep Blue, or handed Superman a Dixie cup of kryptonite Kool-Aid, but downright scary in a midtown Manhattan restaurant during the early-bird special. ]
My kind of guy.

quote [ This is what happens when your male role model is both a priest and a gym teacher. ]
Is it just me or would that quote make one hell of a tagline?

quote [ For the Greek, Hemeroscopium is the place where the sun sets. An allusion to a place that exists only in our mind, in our senses, that is ever-changing and mutable, but is nonetheless real. It is delimited by the references of the horizon, by the physical limits, defined by light, and it happens in time. ]
The amount of filler words in the article cause my eyes to glaze over as I read, but the pictures are interesting.

quote [ A few years ago, in dense woodland a few miles from my home, I discovered a caravan. Encircled by trees and undergrowth, and over a mile from the nearest road, its presence was utterly incongruous, with few clues as to how or why it had come to rest at this point. For almost a year, I kept my distance, fearful it was inhabited by a hermit and that I would be chased away if I ventured too close. Eventually, I investigated further and discovered that it was empty; its furnishings intact, but no sign of human inhabitants. Sadly, the door was locked, and so I gave it little thought for several months. ]
Reminds me of when I was a kid, back in Jersey. Used to spend all my time walking animal trails, climbing boulders, playing in streams, and swinging from vines. One day I followed a trail I hadn't noticed before and came across an old concrete block bomb shelter (or something) built into the side of a hill.

I thought this was pretty neat.....do people say "neat" anymore?
